The Good Old Days + 4 Kids

we got a super sweet invite to go visit our friends the Grdinas and the Tates in Pinehurst, NC this weekend. we all met in ohio and we are lucky enough to keep in touch even though we live in three different states.

we left after soccer on saturday morning and were able to spend the afternoon and evening with our friends before heading back midday on sunday. we spent lots of time in our pajamas, with kids underfoot. it was a great time!

autumn, me and stacey. love these girls!

arianne, roman and jj an innocent picture on the swing takes a romantic turn...roman is kissing on ashleigh roman is an equal opportunity kisser (this was last visit with arianne) this trip was short and very sweet, we hope to do it again soon!

Starting Early

we've been talking about when we should start roman in sports. i guess you can never start too early, huh?

when aj said they were signing chase up for soccer, toby quickly signed up roman too. this was going to be fun! two little colellas running around chasing a ball, kicking each other in the shins. how else would you want to spend saturday mornings?

turns out roman is pretty good.

the boys patiently waiting their turn. well, maybe patiently is not the right word.

roman is concentrating really hard on kicking the ball tongue hanging out the whole time!

cool new jersey cutest little soccer playersstay tuned for next saturday!

Gratitude

today, i am grateful for...

an incident-free delivery of a friend's healthy baby girl

a son that always asks for hugs and kisses!

toby's job promotion that allows him to be home more often

making someone's day with a small gesture

being able to cross another "chore" off my mental to-do list

nicer weather (even if that means pollen by the pound)

sweet emails from my mom

Grandpa & Grandma Visit

we had some visitors this past weekend. grandma and grandpa miller drove all the way down from west virginia to hang out with us for a few days. we tried to get outside as much as we could and enjoy the sunshine.

roman has been begging to play golf for a while, so we borrowed macee's clubs and headed out to the course!

lots of fun driving the golf cart he's actually pretty good...look at that swing! he loves putting the ball on the tee we even got a little putting practice in... toby offering some words of "wisdom" grandpa even got in on the fun. he's a pretty good putter. and then, we spotted this guy on our way out. he wasn't too big, but he was really close to this house. grandpa went around to the front of the house to get a better look. he's brave, i guess. then, on sunday, we hit up the hhi st. patrick's day parade. it was a little chilly in the shade, but roman loved standing up close to the road so he could snag some candy. i think there was some sort of stuffed character in the back of this truck that he was waving to... not too happy about me making him turn around for a picture. being lazy with duke. thanks for coming grandma and grandpa, we had a great time!

Strike Dance

we got a new game for the xbox kinect this weekend and it is F.U.N. like, so fun that i am completely sore. i think i might have a rotator cuff injury from ping pong. is that possible?

anyhoo, roman can play too and his favorite right now is bowling. he's pretty good too. this is what happens when he gets a strike!

Calling All Colellas

we had us a little par-tay on saturday. everyone in attendance shares the same last name....COLELLA...well, except for the Tamminens, but heather used to be a colella, so we made an exception...ha ha! we were celebrating a few birthdays (christina 2/15, mac & rylee 2/19, me 2/20, and mike 3/8) and the fact that aj, holly and chase moved back to hilton head!

here's little man chase!

ro, taking a hard swing at the ball. considering he's at the tail end of his swing and the ball is still there, i'm gonna say that maybe that was a strike... reese and uncle pops ready to catch the fly ballthe tamminens' newest addition to the zoo....meet GUS! :) we sang a belated happy birthday to rylee goofy girl i think reese was caught a little off guard here, but she was ready for her cake, dangit! is this the scariest looking buzz lightyear you've ever seen?successful family fun day.

Ready for Spring

last weekend was super gorgeous outside. we took advantage of our long weekend (thanks jason aldean) and got a head start on spring. we haven't gotten new pine straw yet, so please ignore that ugliness and focus on the pretty.

i got this new green pot from my mom for my birthday, isn't it purty? i filled up the urn from last year with some new pretty flowers, ivy and some spiky green stuff (name?) and the little blue bird is new too (thanks mom!) instead of hanging our typical ferns from the porch, we chose some unique looking geraniums. we found out that ferns aren't really meant for full sun, so we opted for these instead.

i painted our steps black too. they were so dingy looking. the stain that we had put on them the first year we lived here was looking pretty shabby. the only thing that i don't like about the black paint is that it shows the pollen that has arrived this week! see, we did get a fern, but she is hiding from the sun.

and, i re-fashioned the wreath. it was all floppy and not really my style. so, i made these rosette flowers instead. much more my style. a close up of the pink rosettes.
are you ready for spring?
