Baptism Bonanza

so, we thought we were over the sickness that had swept through the whole family.  except for roman.  so, when he didn't get sick by the time wednesday rolled around, i thought we were home free.  so, when i got a call at 4pm on friday that roman was throwing up at school, i thought i might get sick again.  the thought of driving with a sick kid nearly made me want to cancel the trip.  luckily, he was fine once we got him home and slept great.  we woke up early and he was totally fine for the whole ride.  gianna too.  the drive up was a success!  i have the greatest little travelers.  and, i didn't drive one single mile the whole trip.  toby drove the whole way there, the whole way back and every mile in between!

so, we got there and headed straight to poppop's house for alex's birthday and 8th grade graduation party.  gianna was starting to get fussy, but i thought she was hungry and tired, so we headed to toby's moms house for the night.  the next day was sunday, the day of the baptism.  gianna woke up even fussier than the night before.  she wanted no one but momma.  which made it really hard to even just get a shower.  but a quick bottle and nap just before the baptism helped her to keep her cool until the festivities were over.  toby's mom hosted a really great lunch after the baptism, but gianna was getting increasingly un-gianna-like.  we decided to take her to AI Dupont to have her checked out after she popped a 102 fever.  turns out she had an ear infection.  p.s.  AI Dupont rocks!  for real.  they were awesome.  after we drove away, toby said he wanted to go back and give all of them a hug.  after we got baby girl on some meds, she started to feel better.  it took a few days to get her fever under control, but after that she was back to her normal happy self.

we headed down to my mom's and laid low during the heatwave.  got some rest and met lilah grace!  ate a lot.  i mean a lot.  we headed home on saturday and stayed in a hotel in rocky mount for the night.  actually slept in a little on sunday and then got on the road again.  we stopped in florence to see our newest family member, guido.  we'll be going back next weekend to pick him up for good.  he was super cute and of course, the fattest of all his brothers and sisters.

i really hated to leave our family and come back to reality, but i am enjoying getting back into a routine and having the kids back in their own beds!  already looking forward to our next visit with family.

it was kinda chilly out the first couple nights we were in de, roman cuddled up with mimi outside
and the hot tub felt nice!

roman was running around the trampoline while holding his shorts...his happy dance

7 months

holy time flies batman! 7 months already? i can't believe it. my littlest angel is getting so big. here's what she's up to these days...

  • you weigh 17 lbs.
  • you can sit up on your own pretty good now.
  • you love to talk to anybody that will listen.
  • your eyes light up when you see your brother, your poppa or me.
  • you sleep 11 hours most nights (bless you, sweet baby girl).
  • you roll onto your belly and will actually sleep good like that.
  • you are very good at getting your binky back in your mouth if it falls out and you can find it.
  • you are trying a few new foods besides cereal.  you have had applesauce, pears, peaches, bananas and prunes.  you seem to like most of them.  now we are going to add some veggies and see how that goes.  if you are anything like your momma and brother, you won't like them...ha ha.
  • you still just have the two teeth on the bottom, but i have a feeling some more are coming soon.
  • you like to watch tv.  i blame your poppa.
gianna, you grow more and more beautiful every day.  i just can't get over how much joy you have brought into our lives.  your brother ADORES you, you are wrapped around Poppa's finger and Momma can't wait to smother you with kisses every day.

A Plethera of Pictures

what a hodge podge of pictures...sorry! but, there's no denying that i've got some pretty cute kids, huh? this is what i am able to post after a tough weekend.  gianna was sick on thursday morning and i kept her home from daycare that day, but she was better and able to go to daycare on friday.  but, saturday morning, we went to taekwondo and then it was all downhill from there.  toby started to feel bad and so did i.  it was not a pretty sight.  but our kids were SO good and we made it through.  i don't think that has ever happened where both of us were sick at the same time before, let alone with 2 kids to take care of.  thank God for well behaved children!

gianna is really enjoying her mornings in the johnny jump-up
sometimes i catch her sleeping with her feet up in the air like this
she is really starting to sit up good on her own
but if she rolls onto her belly, don't leave her like that for long or this happens
after 2 hours of preparing to go to the pool, we spent about 45 minutes there last weekend
roman loves the water
gianna just chilled out
he was dipping his ice cream sandwich in sprinkles...what?
he packed his taekwondo bag and carried it out to the car himself
here was the sick little girl, sitting up in bed, watching mickey mouse
practicing self defense moves
this is roman sparring against anthony.  anthony is older than roman, but a little bit smaller.
roman also sparred with one of the instructors, miss angelino for testing.  as you can see, he has no fear.

miss thing was happy to watch

after much thought, we have decided to add a new member to our family.  here he is.  his name is guido and we will be able to bring him home around july 4th.  he is a french bulldog (so ugly they're cute), they are known to be extremely lazy clowns.  our kind of dog!
roman drew me a rainbow butterfly at daycare and wanted me to take it to work to show everybody, so there it is on my bulletin board.
crazy boys...wearing their eagles jerseys and duke basketball shorts
my cute kiddos, hanging out in their pjs all day, watching some tv
we celebrated father's day today since we will be up in de for gianna's christening next week on the real father's day.  here's a video we made for poppa.

the kids made an apple tree picture for poppa, we got a new school picture with both of them, and roman picked out a cooler for poppa's beer (haha).  also, we got him a gift certificate for the car wash so he can take his new truck to get pampered.

now, the rest of this week will be packing and getting ready for our trip up north to see our family!  yay...so excited!
