Too Cool for the Pool

saturday was a perfect day to go to the pool. poppa was golfing, so roman and i invited mady and her mom to the pool to hang out. we had a good time before they got there, but of course, roman was sooo excited when mady arrived!

having a poolside snackthey needed to refuel, nothing like some fruit snacks and a capri sun to get your energy back!

Click Clack Moo

roman has become quite good at memorizing certain books that we read quite often. the first one was the Christmas story, seen here. then, he got really good at Green Eggs and Ham. now, we are moving on to another favorite called "Click Clack Moo, Cows that Type". he's got it almost down, but there is one page that he kind of misunderstands a little. considering that he's only 3, i'm gonna cut him some slack, but i think it is super hilarious.

this is how the page reads: "Duck was a neutral party, so he brought the ultimatum to the cows."

this is how roman reads it: "Duck went to the party and brought tomatoes to the cows."

i'll try to get it on video, but sometimes he gets a little camera shy, so we'll see.

Life's a Beach

we hadn't been to the beach yet at all, so on sunday morning, we met aunt hettie and the girls there for a few hours. good times were had by all.

Ahh, Young Love

my conversation with roman at dinner last night went like this:

me: so, who did you play with at school today?

roman: uhhh, dante and
bodie.

me: you didn't play with mady today?

roman: no.

me: why not?

roman: because she is whiny and creepy and she
needs to think about it!

oh goodness, i was rolling! i texted mady's mom to tell her what he said and she told me that when she picked mady up earlier, the two of them were cuddling under a blanket on the "couch" in their classroom. guess he forgot about that!

Thursday Afternoon Funny

i had to write this down before i forgot it...

last weekend roman and i went out to clean out my car since we were selling it to my friend, allison. we pulled into the gas station to fill up and then went in to grab the coupon for half off their totally awesome carwash. the really groovy cashier lady gave us two coupons. score! when we got back to the car, roman asked if he could hold one of the "badges" (the coupons were actually round stickers). of course, i let him. then he says...

"i won't lose this badge, 'cause i'm not a loser"

no baby, you are NOT a loser!

p.s. when i paid for the carwash, the attendant totally let me keep my coupon. double score!

Sneak Peek

here's a couple pics from my appointment yesterday. they aren't the best quality (i apologize), but they look like heaven to me!

the sonographer said that our little munchkin is "crazy" meaning that he/she is moving all over the place and was not cooperating. i hope this isn't a sign of things to come!

i had to throw this pic in because our little guy/girl had his or her leg kicked up the whole time, kicking itself in the forehead!

Celebrating our Independence

uncle josh (aka uncle donald duck) and aunt colleen are visiting this week! we've been having so much fun with them. we went to the movies, did some shopping, a little eating, etc....

monday night we all headed out to skull creek to see some fireworks.

aren't these boys handsome?

and aunt colleen always make the picture better by being in it! well, hello there... that's my cutie piemy sweet boys all decked out in his glow gear silly girl!waiting patiently for the fireworks to start ooooooohhhhh....ahhhhhhhh..... they were really pretty and we all had a good time.

on tuesday night, we decided to make some s'mores.

roman wanted to do it himself, so i, being the ever-so-cautious parent, put the ove glove on my kid and let him go at it. you would think the super hero cape would give him super heat resistant powers, but this was as close as the marshmallow got to the fire. not quite close enough to melt. that's okay...momma to the rescue...they were yummy no matter who melted the "smarshmallow" uncle donald duck and aunt colleen even got to share in the yummy gooey goodnessanyone who knows josh knows that this is his typical "goofy picture face"

don't let him fool you. it was good. he scarfed it down. and then...still in my ever-so-cautious parent mode, i gave roman sparklers to play with, but not before the ove glove was on the hand! note to self: sparklers are not quite as cool when it is still light out.

second note to self: bedtime at a decent hour was much more important.

Stompin' in the Rain
