Hard Work Pays Off

i can't tell you how many nights roman is putting in hard work, long after i would have given up, or other kids are probably playing video games.  he is swinging the bat, pitching, working out, etc...
he wants to be the best he can be.  he wants to be a leader for his team.  and his hard work is paying off.  he has had some awesome hits, he runs the bases like a pro and he has hit 3 home runs (over the fence) this spring season.

and this face right here makes it so fun for me as a mom. he is having a blast!

his teammates are so pumped for him and i love that they have his back!

this is an example of his hard work.  this was him working out AFTER he played in a rec game.  and it was all his idea.  nobody told him he had to do it.

Ice Cream Date

on a rare evening when homework had been completed, dinner was over and we didn't have a baseball game to attend...the kids and i hopped on the golf cart and headed downtown for an ice cream date.

sitting on the church lawn, watching the boats drift by...

doing a little exploring by the dock, brother is always helping sister...

see, they can be sweet to each other!

Besties

last weekend, we got to hang out with gracie for most of the day.  her brothers were playing in a long tournament and the girls got invited to a birthday party, so she got to hang out with us for a while.

first, she came to watch gianna play in her softball game.  she was really sweet and brought a sign to cheer her on and some money to buy gianna a treat at the concession stand.  what a friend!

the girls were all smiles as we left the game to go get ready for the party.

when they arrived at the party, they found some friends and rushed off to play in the bounce houses and get their faces painted.

pinata time!  look at that determination on her face!

the girls had a blast at the party, but then it was time to take gracie home.  we wished she could spend the night, but maybe next time!

later that night, we headed to the bowling alley to celebrate sunny's birthday and gianna was happy to hang out with mikah!  look at those beautiful girls!!

Softball/Baseball 2018

i love it that my kids are both loving the game!  gianna is starting to get the hang of it and roman is making great strides every day.  i'm so proud of both of them and decided to actually buy their pictures this year (i rarely do that).  i only got a key fob for both of them and they stay in my car so i can see them during my daily commute.  i want to always remember them this little because they are growing way too fast!

gianna loves to catch a ride with poppa as he drags the field...

i love it when gianna plays catcher!

and i love her team, the dazzling dolls!

roman and his buddy, max, both hit over the fence home runs in one of their travel games and they are proud members of the "home run club" now!

here is ro's home run.  he is way too goofy sometimes...check out his dance at the end.  and, you can hear our friend gus say "now, that's what i call chicken n biscuits" at the end.  he tells roman, "when a biscuit crosses the plate, put some gravy on it and hit it out!"  πŸ˜‚

one of the little brothers always grabs the catcher's helmet and a glove after the game is over and so we decided he needs to be in the team pic!

look at that arm behind her back.  i wonder where she got that from?  watching big brother, maybe?

i love seeing him behind the plate too. my two little catchers...πŸ’—

Goofy

roman had a sleepover with his friend, jake, and his mom sent me this pic.  i mean, you aren't having fun if someone isn't in a full coverage body suit, right?

i just wanted to show what our girl looks like when you interrupt her favorite tv show.  could i be bothering her any more than this?

Mimi Time

the kids had spring break right after Easter and Mimi was kind enough to come down and keep them for us that whole week!  they had a blast with her and we even got to hang with her a few extra days into the next week.  it was still a little chilly, but it's never too cold for ice cream, right?

mimi taught g how to ride her bike without training wheels too, look at her go!
