Just in the Nick of Time

sometimes i wonder how and why things happen the way they do. it seems as though just when you need something, it arrives! this was the case yesterday when we arrived home from our errands to find two packages on the front porch. one for roman, one for momma. clothes and goodies for roman, clothes for momma too! mommom must have known we didn't have anything to wear to church today. well, problem solved! check out this swanky dude...

Rocka Rocka

this kid makes me wanna do stuff that i normally wouldn't take the time to do. tonight we sat on the porch and had a peanut butter sandwich on the rocka rockas (the rocking chairs). i'm so glad he is making me slow down and enjoy life.

Good Times...Good Times

once upon a time, we lived in ohio. we met some really great friends. john and autumn were our neighbors and we knew kyle from work. kyle was really smart and started dating chrissy. about 4.5 kids ago...we went skiing over new year's eve. we had a great time. i just found these pics in my old dinosaur of a computer. i had to post them because it makes me happy. good times. maybe we will all take our kids skiing someday. hopefully there won't be any scary late night drives on seriously curvy, icy roads.

Dat

sami came down for a visit with blaire and ariah, so we were invited for dinner at sunny and uncle pops' house! roman took a little time to warm up, but after a while, he got used to ariah. but, he wouldn't say her name. he kept saying "dat". momma, dat's hiding. momma, dat dropped it. momma, dat eating.

Bike to the Beach

we had a great time today. the sun was shining and it was nice and warm. so outside we went. we rented a bike and a kiddie kart to go behind it and headed to the beach to soak up some sun...and a little sand too.

i told him to give me a thumbs up...i guess he's a little confused. oh well, we're #1!

Wow, What a Weekend

seriously, i feel exhausted from my weekend. but man, did we have fun! friday night was girls night at jessica's. fiesta fresh and crafting. the girl time was definitely necessary and i loved hanging with jess and allison while getting some crafts completed. more on those later. rylee wasn't looking forward to a soccer weekend in columbia, so we invited her to hang with us for a few days. so much fun...roman seriously loves his cousins! on saturday, we went to island playground.

we were there for an hour and a half...what a workout for me! ready for the parade!
roman saw lots of cool things in the parade...like horses, boats, motorcycles and dogs. he had a wonderful time at his first parade. hala was there too, clapping the whole time.
is tomorrow monday already? dang...this went by too fast!

Fresh Air

it seems like almost everyone had a little taste of spring this weekend. we took advantage of the nice weather and headed outdoors on both days. ro and i did a little shopping on saturday and then headed home for a nap. toby was able to start work on the lawn, getting it ready for spring and summer. today, ro helped his poppa outside for a while so i could get some cleaning done and then we all hung out for a while before the sun went down. we even sat on the step barefoot this afternoon. it seemed warmer outside in the sun than inside. i love that. open windows, fresh air.
