Macee Graduates

i can't believe she is a high school graduate!  we are so proud of her and all she has accomplished.

she is attending Presbyterian College in the fall on a full basketball scholarship.

good luck to you, Macee!

oh, these two.  they are like twins separated at birth (9 years apart!).

Baseball for Both

this baseball season has been different because gianna has been playing too.  her games were always on saturday mornings, so we have missed a lot of roman's first games on tournament days, but that is okay.  gianna loved to play and she was sad that this was her last game.  but, also happy that she was going to get a trophy.  i'm so proud of how far she has come this season.  she can hit really well (her goal is always to hit it past the coach) and she can field and throw better than the beginning of the season.  she was willing to play any position, even catcher.  i hope her love for the game grows, just like roman's did.

she loved her coaches!

this was her cheering section for her last game.  i am so grateful for our friends and family that always show their support.

later that day, we headed to charleston to watch roman and his team in a tournament.   gianna and molly always have a good time on the sidelines.

roman got a walk off to win their second game of the day.

and then, it was time to hang with his friends and have a quick meeting with the coach.

next day...time to fuel up for games 3 and 4.

we are ready to cheer!

i think this is cheering?

they won game 3 and went to the championship game, but lost that one...so 2nd place will do!  the boys had a great time and played well.

and that, my friends, is what a "normal" weekend looks like for us!

Mother's Day

for mother's day this year, we headed to church and then to brunch with our friends.  it was such a beautiful day on the water and i enjoyed it thoroughly.

this pic of jake and roman reminds me of a boy band album cover.  what should their boy band name be?

gianna was worried she would fall in the water, but big brother was not going to let that happen.

later, we went to the pool and gianna got to play with her friend, isabella.

SGGCS Carnival

for saint gregory's 10 year anniversary, the school put on a carnival for the kids and i was able to attend. i don't normally get to attend many school functions, so i was happy to be able to be there all day.

they started with a trip through the candy forest...

someone must have found his favorite candy..

there was face painting and free sno-cones.  what more could you ask for?

this ride was a favorite of all the kids, even if "2 kids barfed"!!  that is all i heard about for 2 days, haha.

i will stick with the slower paced swing ride, if you don't mind.

purple dreaded rapunzel?

this was the Pre-K booth with all our little Pre-K friends.

such a fun day!

Shoeless Joe

3rd grade put on a wax museum presentation with all wax figures being from south carolina.  roman picked shoeless joe jackson, of course!  i am so proud of all his hard work on this project.

he did wonderful with his speech.  they stood there for a few hours, repeating their speech to anyone who pushed their button, so he says he thinks he said it about 30 times that day.

and after that, i went down to gianna's classroom and watched her give her teachers a little teachers appreciation gift. she was super excited!

Accident

a few weeks ago, toby and the kids were involved in a pretty bad accident.  but, as bad as it was, it could have been a lot worse.  i truly believe that God was watching over them and kept them safe.  the accident occurred right in front of the firehouse, so the kids were ushered in there and given a tour of the firetruck...how fun, right?

this is what toby's car looked like after the accident.  luckily, the side airbags deployed and helped cushion the impact.  but, in the end, the car was totaled.

we are so grateful that the girls were able to come and be with them while toby was dealing with the accident and i was trying my best to get there fast!

we went and had both toby and gianna checked out just to make sure they were a-ok.
